Rotation Builder
Build your Squad server rotation map by map. Only the factions and units the game actually allows on each layer are offered, so the generated text is valid to paste straight into your server config.

How to build a Squad server rotation
- 1
Pick your maps and layers
A Squad rotation is the ordered list of layers your server loads one after another. Search for a map, pick the exact layer —AAS, RAAS, Invasion, Skirmish— and add it to the list. The rotation builder only offers layers that actually exist in the game, so you cannot end up with a name the server will reject.
- 2
Assign factions and unit types
Each layer allows a specific set of factions, and each faction several unit types: armoured, mechanised, light infantry, motorised. As you pick them you can see every team's vehicles, which is what really decides whether a match is balanced.
- 3
Copy the result into your server config
The copy button gives you the rotation in the syntax Squad expects, ready to paste into your server configuration file. You can also download it as a .txt and keep it next to your config for next time.
Squad rotation builder — frequently asked questions
What is a map rotation in Squad?
It is the order in which a server loads its layers. When a match ends the server moves to the next entry in the list, looping back to the start when it runs out. A good rotation alternates game modes, map sizes and factions so matches do not feel the same.
Do I need an account to use the rotation builder?
No. The tool is free and open: it asks for no account, stores none of your rotations on a server, and runs entirely in your browser.
Where does the map, layer and faction data come from?
From the game's own data dump, not a hand-written list. That is why the factions you can pick on each layer are exactly the ones the game allows, and the vehicles shown are the ones that appear in the match.
Can I save a rotation and come back later?
Yes. You can save it in your browser and pick it up when you return, or download it as a text file to keep alongside your server configuration.
How many layers should a Squad rotation have?
It depends on match length and how often you want maps to repeat. With 45-60 minute matches, a list of 15 to 25 layers stops a player running into the same map twice in one evening.
